Golf, boating, biking. Pana is a place for fun. The Pana Country Club offers a nine-hole golf course, along with dining and bar facilities. Oak Terrace Resort includes 18-hole golf course, dining, bar facilities and housing accommodations. Lake Pana and Lake Shelbyville are the perfect choices for boating and fishing. The Lincoln Prairie Bicycle Trail is a paved, 15-mile path stretching from Pana to Taylorville, with additional expansions planned.

Pana has three public parks with picnic facilities, playground equipment and baseball diamonds, and one contains a public swimming pool. Kitchell Park, one of the few parks listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is home to the Schuyler Bridge (1910) and Chautauqua Building (1911).

Anderson Prairie is a 25-acre wildlife park that features remnants of the original tallgrass prairie of Illinois. Coal Creek Pioneer Village hosts 1850s log buildings, a country store and special events.
